Wayne nets ARFC's 1900th goal in 4-0 win

Courtesy of yet another solid performance from Chua, ARFC brushed aside Pionneer FC 4-0 at Mayflower SS.

ARFC was hit by the last-min withdrawal of Ismail who was down with work commitment. Thankfully, How Meng stepped up to the plate to take his place in goal.

ARFC also welcomed back Derrick who returned after his lengthy lay-off. He was rightly and proudly cheered by ARFC’s supporters.

ARFC opened the scoring in the 11^th min. Spotting Hee making a good run, Blackburn unpredictably back-heeled to Hee who expertly put the ball past their keeper for his 106^th ARFC goal. 1-0

Within 111 seconds, Hee turned provider when he “lobang” their sweeper to the left by-line. Hee’s sweet cross gave Alvin the easiest of task to tap into the open net. 2-0 and this was Alvin’s 284^th ARFC goal.

6 mins before half-time, Chun Haw lived up to his high billing when he executed a throuh ball ala Zidane for Wayne to place the ball past their keeper. 3-0 and this was Wayne’s 22^nd ARFC goal.

With a comfortable 3-goal cushion, ARFC took its foot off the pedal and focusd on keeping possession and passing.

In the 66^th min, ARFC earned a free-kick. To loud applause, Derrick took a quick free-kick from outside the box but his shot was parried by their keeper. The ball fell kindly and invitingly for Wayne who duly slot home his 23^rd ARFC goal. 4-0 this was also ARFC’s 1900^th goal in its illustrious history.

Wayne’s goal took him to level terms with former ARFC Legend David on 23 goals.

Despite conjuring more chances, ARFC could not add to its 4-goal tally.
