Guoxiong's finest performance in ARFC shirt propelled 7-3 victory

On a humid Sunday afternoon, Guoxiong put up one of his best performances in an ARFC shirt to inspire ARFC to a resounding 7-3 win over Fun Warriors.

ARFC soon fell behind. 0-1

Toh then missed rom a free header from Blackburn’s corner.

However, Toh soon made amends. Chua sent Guoxiong galloping down the right flank and the latter’s Beckham-like right-wing cross was met emphatically by Toh whose bullet header came in off the cross-bar. 1-1 and this Was Toh’s 90^th ARFC goal.

Straight from the kick-off, the opponents sored to lead 2-1.

ARFC did not let its heads drop. 7 mins later, Guoxiong turned provider yet again when his cross from the right saw their defender bizarrely pushed Alvin when there was no danger at all. Alvin dusted himself off the ground to drill his spot-kick right through their GK. 2-2 and this was Alvin’s 285^th ARFC goal.

ARFC then took the lead for the first time in the match.  Wayne received a low ball from Guoxiong and passed the ball out for the on-rushing Chun Haw, who totally controlled the midfeld, to thump home a low diagonal venomous shot for his 48^th ARFC goal. 3-2

ARFC then saw a catalogue of misses from Wayne, Haron, Blackburn and Hee.  Chun Haw’s shot was also saved.

Derrick then came to ARFC’s rescue when he twice produced world-class saves to fist their shots over the bar.

Moments later, Derrick dived low to turn their grounder out for a corner.

Soon’s shot was then aved before Eng Lai, unmarked in the penalty area, headed wide from Blackburn’s corner.

In the 2^nd half, ARFC continued to press for goals. Haron then fully optimised his experience when he chased a ball over the top. When he felt a slight push, Haron immediately went to ground to earn a penalty. Haron picked himself up to send their GK the wrong way for his 232^nd ARFC goal.  4-2

Chua then passed to Blackburn who brought the ball down expertly. Turning away, Blackburn rifled a world-class rising shot that hit the top-left-hand corner, giving their GK no chance at all. 5-2 and this was Blackburn’s 152^nd ARFC goal.

Haron then had a legitimate goal ruled out when he turned in a close-range shot. The ball had clearly crossed the line but the referee did not award a goal. Unlucky!

Derrick then produced yet another top-draw save when he dived low to save a one-on-one situation.

Raymond then had a goal correctly ruled out. Sebastian’s corner was hit right to the most dangerous zone (between the 6-yard box and penalty spot) and Raymond rose highest to nod home. However, Soon was correctly ruled to have obstructed their GK. Unlucky!

Sebastian then hit another similar hazrdous corner kick but Toh headed just slightly over.

Guoxiong then capped his finest performance in an ARFC shirt when he gave a low slide-rule pass for Alvin to latch on. Powering goalwards, Alvin simply placed the ball home for his 286^th ARFC goal. 6-2

Blackburn then floated in a great ball from the left which saw their GK grasping thin air. Raymond then had the easiest of task to roll the ball into the empty net for his 7^th ARFC goal.  7-2

Alvin then powered his way all the way from left midfield area to the byeline before squaring to Wayne who lifted the ball over the bar with just their GK to beat.

The opponent then scored after Derrick saved their penalty but they touched the rebound home after Sebastian was slow to react.

Toh's towering display in 2-1 victory

On the back of an inspiring performance from captain Toh, ARFC chalked up its 4^th successive wins in as many matches after a hard-fought but thoroughly-deserved 2-1 victory over Sarafaco FC.

ARFC fans were treated to a pleasant surprise when Sebastian finally made his return after several months out with his medical treatment.

ARFC suffered a crushing blow when Haron had to pull put due to illness from being overworked.

ARFC dominated from the start and Wayne skewed his shot just wide.

In the 20^th, ARFC broke the deadlock.  Soon showed great determination to win the ball off their defender down the left and passed to Tze Ern.  Tze Ern’s fierce shot was palmed away by their GK, but only to Guoxiong on the right. Guoxiong faked a shot with his right leg and fooled their defender before placing the ball home with his left foot. World-class goal! 1-0 and this was Guoxiong’s 26^th ARFC goal.

Amazingly, after scoring his first goal for ARFC in 2016 last week, Guoxiong has now scored in successive matches.

Hee then slalomed his way into the box before passing to Wayne who was totally unmarked. However, Wayne could not find the target.

Sebastian and Kai then played a quick short corner which saw Sebastian finding Tze Ern in the box. However, Tze Ern’s shot was charged down by their defender.

In the 2^nd half, ARFC continud to dominate but strangely conceded a counter-attack goal. 1-1

Sebastian then nearly marked his return with a goal.  After Chun Haw was upended yet again, Sebastian stepped up, curled the ball over their extended wall but only succeeded to hit the side-netting. Unlucky!

ARFC then regained its lead. Blackburn’s corner caused mayhem in their penaly box. Alvin then hooked the ball upwards and when the ball came down near the goal-line, Soon challenged for the ball. The ball then dropped for a second time and Toh then fully utilised his Ironman-like frame to force the ball home. 2-1 and this was Toh’s 89^th ARFC goal.

Alvin then put his snap shot just wide.

Blackburn then teed up Alvin but his shot somehow went out for a throw-in.

Chun Haw then passed to Alvin whose shot was blocked by their GK. From the ensuing rebound, Wayne shot wide.

Sebastian then came to ARFC’s rescue when the opponents caught ARFC napping from a corner.  As the only warrior staying in defence and faced with 3 opponents, Sebastian miraculously salvaged the situation and preserved ARFC’s lead.
