ARFC hit for 6 in one-sided match

Playing for very first time, and most probably the last time as well, at the lousy Bedok Camp rock-like pitch, ARFC was trounced 0-6 by the SAFSA team whose players are aged between 18-20 years old.

Special credit to Soon and Derrick for turning up despite their early morning exertions – long run and long sex respectively.

ARFC started with this line-up:

Keeper           -           Talisman Derrick
Right-back     -           Dependable Jinzhong
Sweeper         -           Astute-reading sweeper Elvis
Stopper          -           Towering Toh
Left-back       -           Influential Sebastian
Left-mid         -           Speedy Hee
Centre-mid    -           Dynamic Soon
Centre-mid    -           Combative Ron
Right-mid      -           Marauding Guoxiong
Striker                        -           Unpredictable Blackburn (captain)
Striker                        -           Powerful Alvin

Subs:

Steely Tze Ern (late)

Absent:

Nippy Kenny
ARFC Scoring Legend Haron
Talented Chun Haw
Unbeatable Darren
 Resolute Jasper
Composed Jackson
Sublime Khim
Impeccable How Meng
Wonder Wayne
Hard-man Tjioe
Skillful Weilit
Booming Boon
Jiawei

Despite the vast disparity in age and numbers (think they had close to 20 young army boys in attendance) ARFC actually did very well in the first 30 mins. In fact, Blackburn could have given ARFC a shock lead but his long lob from 47 metres out was superbly gathered by their Peter Schmeichel-like keeper.

ARFC then conceded 2 goals in quick succession to trail 0-2 at half-time.

In the 2nd half, ARFC collapsed due to exhaustion and almost all were struggling to even walk, let alone run.

ARFC then conceded 4 more goals. 0-6

In between those goals, ARFC also added in some comical moments especially from Derrick’s goal-kick from the 6-yard box to 6-yard box – the same 6-yard box of ARFC!!!!  J

Alvin then had a great chance to pull a consolation goal back after he wriggled past 3-4 defenders and faced their keeper alone. Alas, his low shot was saved by their flying keeper who came charging out with a diving save at full-length.
