ARFC took a while to get used to their physical tackles with Derrick
bearing the brunt the most.
ARFC opened the scoring in the 17th min. Guoxiong popped a delicious
ball down the right flank that saw Wayne breaking away in delight. With their
keeper to beat, Wayne showed that he is unselfish when he squared the ball
across after drawing out their keeper. The on-rushing Alvin had the easiest of
easiest task to simply tap the ball into the unguarded net for his 200th
ARFC goal!!!! 1-0.
After scoring, Alvin took off his top, swung 7 times above his head and wheeled
away in delirious fashion. After seeing his bulging muscles bouncing up and
down, all the SYTs and PRC PDMMs present could not tahan anymore and started
stripping off their tops in their efforts to entice and seduce Alvin. However,
Alvin turned them down as he is now a changed man – a total family man.
The opponents then equalized in the most bizarre manner when the referee
awarded an extremely soft penalty after the ball hit Darren. 1-1.
ARFC then spurned a few chances.
In the 27th min, Guoxiong was put clean through by Blackburn.
He sprinted clear, rounded their keeper and looked to have scored his 16th
ARFC goal. Unfortunately, he took an extra touch and his follow-up shot was
incredibly cleared away by their back-tracking defender.
Derrick and Kenny were having a field day down the flanks with their
dominating penetrative runs at right and left flank respectively. However, their
efforts were not rewarded with goals.
ARFC regained the lead about 7 mins after the re-start. Sebastian played
a low venomous slide-rule pass ala Jamie Redknapp/Xabi Alonso and Alvin came
from deep and totally shattered their offside trap. With only their keeper to
beat, Alvin could have gone for goal himself but he remembered Wayne’s kindness
earlier. Alvin then squared the ball across and Kenny gleefully steered the
ball in for his 18th ARFC goal. 2-1
ARFC conjured several more chances but no goals.
In the 67th min, Sebastian scored ARFC’s 3rd goal.
Chun Haw showed his great awareness when he cleverly won a free-kick just
outside the box at the inner left area. Sebastian regained his deadly dead-ball
skills when he plonked the ball right through the wall to beat their keeper at
his near post. 3-1 and this was Sebastian’s 84th ARFC goal.
7 mins later, ARFC had a goal disallowed. Sebastian threaded a no-look
pass down the right flank and there was BLACKBURN (!!!!!) who turned back the
clock in the early 90s when he galloped down the right flank. His low cross was
turned in by Wayne but the referee correctly ruled that Wayne was offside.
Man-of-the-Match is jointly given to Darren, Jinzhong, Derrick and Hee.
200-goal hero Alvin was clearly over the moon. Speaking to xinmsn.com in Mandarin, Alvin beamed:
“I want to thank all warriors all these years for creating the 200 goals
for me. I never imagined that I would be the first ARFC warrior to reach 200
goals, especially since I could not even score in my first few matches for
ARFC. Last but not least, I want to thank my wife, Irene, for allowing me to go
for ARFC matches and staying at home to do all the housework.”
“To celebrate, I will be organizing a whole-night booze-dance-sex session
soon…. All are welcome….Watch out for details of the session on WHATSAPP…..”
