ARFC overcomes stubborn KG Utd 1-0
In a match placed under cool weather, ARFC overcame a stubborn KG Utd 1-0 in front of the usual 77,777 fans at ITE Stadia.
Prior to the match, ARFC was severely hit with the absence of sublime Khim, Towering Toh, dependable David Mak (father of Marco Mak) and Speedy Hee. However, the blow was cushioned by the presence of turbo-engine Hock, WO Neo and the surprise appearance of used-to-be-speedy ARFC right-back Boon.
As usual, Jinzhong started in goal with astute-reading Elvis as the sweeper. Hard-working Tong was sacrificed to take over Towering Toh’s position as stopper, with determined Huiming and left-foot wizard Bernard guarding the flanks. Kiat Gulam partnered Sebastiano in the middle, while quick-silver Derrick has the unenviable task of taking over sublime Khim’s position as the left-midfielder. Turbo-engine Hock took up the right mid and the frontline was led by powerful Alvin with unpredictable Blackburn. ARFC scoring legend Haron, WO Neo and and used-to-be-speedy ARFC right-back Boon were the subs.
ARFC started confidently and soon blew away 2 chances in the opening minutes. KG Utd fought back and threatened ARFC on several occasions. However, ARFC defence, once again led superbly by astute-reading Elvis and ably supported by hard-working Tong, held firm. Unpredictable Blackburn and powerful Alvin linked up well with their clever ball-possession and wall-passes, and it was clear that unpredictable Blackburn was having his best game in many matches.
In the 27th min, turbo-engine Hock and unpredictable Blackburn linked up well on the right and the former then swung in a high cross into the box. The ball then somehow looped fortuitously over their keeper to open the scoring. 1-0 and this was turbo-engine Hock’s 14th goal for ARFC!!
In the second half, WO Neo and ARFC scoring legend Haron replaced powerful Alvin and unpredictable Blackburn, while used-to-be-speedy Boon took over determined Huiming’s right-back position, who took over the stopper’s role. Hardworking Tong moved up to partner Sebastiano in the middle.
As minutes ticked by, KG Utd began to show their frustration and frequently contested the referee’s decisions. KG Utd also had problems coping with both quick-silver Derrick’s trickery and turbo engine Hock’s pace on both flanks, which resulted in both of them being fouled frequently.
In the 57th min, quick-silver Derrick then provided a comical moment. While holding the ball at the left flank, his legs suddenly went “jelly” and collapsed in a heap which drew loud laughter from the crowd.
In the 67th min, ARFC scoring legend Haron nearly scored his centurion goal for ARFC off a goal-mouth melee but the loose ball was cleared for a corner by their defender.
When the referee blew the final whistle, the crowd went wild as the 1-0 victory meant that ARFC is assured of at least a 2nd place finish in the League.
Speaking to the crowd of reporters at the post-match interview, Sebastiano thanked the crowd for their great support:
“You fans are the best!! Without your support, ARFC would not have bounced back from 2 defeats to clinch at least 2nd place. Though we missed Towering Toh’s aerial prowess and sublime Khim’s clever play, the rest of the ARFC warriors who turned up today proved to be capable replacements, especially quick-silver Derrick who had a fantastic game. Turbo-engine Hock, astute-reading Elvis also had a great game, as did powerful Alvin and unpredictable Blackburn. Thank you once again”
After the match, KG Utd’s captain SMSed Sebastiano to convey his apologies for causing the mayhem during the match.

ARFC staged remarkable comeback for 4-4 draw
In a morning match played under scorching sun at Stadia de Braddell, ARFC staged a remarkable comeback from 0-3 down to snatch a 4-4 draw against a young team comprising of mainly Indian players.
ARFC was severely hit with unavailability of many of its first-choice warriors like ARFC scoring legend Haron, sublime Khim, turbo-engine Hock, Kiat Gulam, powerful Alvin an quick-silver Derrick. Coupled with the fact that it was a late morning game and also an ‘away’ game, only about 7,000 fans turned up. Word has it that it was also a silent protest over the non-approval budget of $6969 for a high-tech digital camera.
ARFC started with Jinzhong in goal, astute-reading Elvis as sweeper, determined Huiming as stopper, ever-green Eng Lai as right-back and reliable David Mak (father of Marco) as left-back. Ever-improving Bernard has the unenviable task of taking over sublime Khim’s role as left-midfield, WO Neo took up the right flank, Towering Toh and unpredictable Blackburn as the centre midfielders. Up front, returning British punk Damian was partnered by Speedy Hee. Hardworking Tong and Sebastiano were the only 2 subs.
Clearly unaccustomed by only 7,000 fans and the away pitch, ARFC was soon in disarray. With 17 minutes, ARFC fell behind by 2 goals which were gifted to the opponents as the defence failed to deal with balls sent in properly. Sebastiano immediately rectified the situation by sending in hard-working Tong to stabilize the midfield as unpredictable Blackburn and Towering Toh were clearly struggling. Back to the heart of the defence, Towering Toh was at his best once again. Sebastiano also replaced the impressive WO Neo at right flank, with evergreen Eng Lai being withdrawn to be replaced at right-back by determined Huiming.
With the changes, ARFC began to play the attractive football that its fanatical fans are used to week-in week-out. In the 27th min, off a brilliant cross from the right by hard-working Tong, fast-improving Bernard took aim and unleashed a superb volley that was destined for goal. Alas, the well-struck volley cannoned off their lunging defender and there goes fast-improving Bernard’s chance of his first-ever goal for ARFC.
When the referee blew for half-time, ARFC was booed off the pitch by the traveling fans for trailing by 0-2.
Upset by the booing, ARFC quickly settled down and was determined to play the attractive football. However, tragedy struck just 7 minutes after the re-start. A rare horrendous error by astute-reading Elvis resulted his ball being robbed by the striker who easily shot past Jinzhong despite a last-minutes lung by Towering Toh. 0-3 and the fans began raining toilet rolls, coins, pagers and used condoms onto the pitch.
Barely minutes later, unpredictable delivered a brilliant ball out on the right to WO Neo who took a touch before leashing the ball in expertly to spark the come-back. This was WO Neo’s 42nd goal for ARFC.
7 minutes later, ARFC won an indirect free-kick almost at the right touch-line of the penalty box after their keeper handled a back-pass. Again, unpredictable Blackburn took the kick and aimed at the lurking Sebastiano. However, before the ball could reach Sebastiano, Towering Toh got to the ball first and side-footed the ball home for his 20th goal for ARFC. 2-3 now!!
In the 67th min, their striker scored a superb outside foot shot that looped over Jinzhong. 4-2 and ARFC looked dead and buried!!!
ARFC however did not give up and continued pressing the opponents. Towering Toh nearly scored his 2nd goal in the match but his shot in the box was touched onto the post by their keeper. Returning British punk Damian also had a goal disallowed, while unpredictable Blackburn’s neat header was controversially ruled out for off-side. Dependable David Mak (father of Marco Mak) also found himself very very free in the box but as he took more than 7 seconds to take shot, the ball was cleared by their defender.
In the 77th min, fast-improving Bernard whipped in a cross from the left but the ball was headed out of the box by their tall Indian defender. Unfortunately, the ball fell to Sebastiano who was about 7 metres outside the penalty box. With a great first touch, Sebastiano brought the ball down, took aim and chipped a fantabulous ball in to the top right-hand corner that had the keeper beaten all the way. 3-4 now!!
Sensing a great come-back, the 7,000 fans roared on and on and on and on. In the last minute, the cheering finally brought dividends to ARFC. Unpredictable Blackburn picked up a loose ball on the right flank, looked up and sent in the ball for the lurking Bernard. Again, Bernard looked to have finally open his accounts for ARFC but he was pushed from behind by their clumsy defender, leaving the referee with no choice but to point to the spot. Up stepped Damian to coolly dispatched the penalty to the bottom left corner for his 10th goal for ARFC and also capped off an impressive all-round display by him.
Speaking to Charlie Webster of ESPN during the post-match interview, fast-improving Bernard rued the great opportunity to score his first-ever ARFC goal:
“KNN!! I kan suay today. I thought can score from my volley in the 1st half but the F#@$%^ defender dunno come from where and block my volley. I could also have scored in the last-min but the CB defender pushed me to the floor. But, ok lah, at least I won a penalty which salvaged the draw.”
Though ARFC managed to stage a remarkable come-back after going 0-3 down, the draw came with heavy price as Speedy Hee and WO Neo were both hurt in the process and would most likely miss the next match. Speedy Hee has since been sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment where he will be well look after by the PRC and Filipino nurses. WO Neo is not so lucky – he was sent to the military out-patient clinic near the Lim Chu Kang area where he was attended by some “ah-gua” medic.

Request for $6969 budget turned down
After intense, careful and deliberate consideration at a high-level meeting held at the Island Ballroom at Shangri-la Hotel involving ARFC Board of Directors and Founders, David Mak (father of Marco Mak), determined Huiming and WO Neo, it has been decided that Kiat Gulam's request of $6969 for a James-Bond digital and digital camera has been turned down.
Speaking to reporters from Lianhe Zaobao, Straits Times, TODAY, Berita Harian, Tamil Marusu, SinMing Daily, Asian Wall Street Journal, Reuters, AFP, ESPN, BBC, Cleo, Her World, Female, FHM and Maxim, David Mak (father of Marco Mak) explains:
"Actually, the requested budget would have been approved if it was just a dollar more , ie$7,000, as under the Article 7(7i) of ARFC's Constitution, all figures have to have at least a "7" digit to be eligible for publication and consideration. Nevertheless, I have conveyed our decision to Kiat Gulam and he will be putting up a revised budget once he is sober from his wild nightly drinking sessions at MOS and St. James Power House."
The decision immediately caused a huge furore within the 7 km radius of ITE Stadia. 77 unidentified die-hard female fans demonstrated their protest by stripping naked and walked for 777 metres, causing huge traffic jams near the stadia.
A bikini-clad female fan, who is a huge admirer of Towering Toh, slammed the decision "What the fuck!! Why can't the budget be approved? With a better camera, at least I can download clearer pictures of my baby Towering Toh's superb headed goals. KNN"
Another sexy babe, who is believed to hail from China, enthused "Tui Ma! , Ru Guo You Hao de xiang ji, wo jiu ke yi pai keng hao wo de ai ren powerful Alvin de feng cai. Rang hou, wo ke yi ji que zhong guo!!"
(Translation: Correct! If there is a good camera, I can take better pictures of my suave powerful Alvin. Then, I can send to China."
Another 7 female fans, who look like they are not more than 17 years old, shouted "Buy a better camera now!! We need to see clearly Speedy Hee's speed as the old camera cannot give a good image as Speedy Hee is too fast!!"
In view of the huge uproar, the ARFC Board of Directors would be convening another urgent meeting to address the issue. The decision will be announced in due course.......

Kiat Gulam clarifies matters.....
To hard-man Tjioe:
Actually not. ARFC did not steam-rolled all our opponents for this tournament ( Please check out website www.sghomeground.com) as we have already lost 2 game in the earlier part of the tournament but have since revenged with terrific win against them when we did the replay. Well said!!We're no longer vibrant young & busted up turbo-charged energy combo Ferraris speed players (With exception of Speedy Hee & Stamino HuiMing) hence collective teamwork is much more an emphasis nowadays in our team strategy to bring back those precious points. Fat, Old or ugly is no longer the taboo topics in our ARFC camp. As long as we keep winning all our matches (Tournaments or Friendlies)..the board of directors of ARFC will not stop your fast cars, unlimited booze, sex orgies and rock & roll parties.:-)
KG: Quality video clips is lousy?? That's the only available video camera we have on our dusty ARFC shelves!! In fact, I have submitted my budget of US$6969 to purchase a brand new high tech Sony video-cam with state-of-art mega pixel of 9999bits resolution pending our ARPC financial director Sebastiano Rossi for his final approval. I will expedite to get the cold cash out from him to make the purchase for this new techno geek so that we can even capture the number of pimples in each ARFC players face on the field with such amazing resolution.
The meagre 7 hardcores ARFC fans left on the ITE Stadia?? It was very unfortunate that most of the 77,770 fans started streaming out of the stadia from the 69minutes onwards as they are international big time punters from America~Armenia & Zambia~Zaire and thus after knowing well ARFC had took control of the game..they made quick exit to catch their Northwest and Ethopia airline back home to collect their winnings.
As for the Hokkien vulgarities spewed out from those meagre few Hokkien bengs..dont be alarmed as they are just small time tiny punters who bet against ARFC and we have unfortunately made them lose their hard earned $2 from the backlane Geylang roadside betting booths.
Do not fret. By the time you hit the ground with us, we will surely have the state-of-art video cameras live telecast on ESPN & Starsports channels and the stadia wil not be filled with Punters like Ethopians niggers, Americans whites or Geylang Bengs due to our step up gate control in the entrance. ARFC board will only admit entrance to sexy bikinis cladded females blondes, brunnettes & Chinese Asian or maybe exotic Mongolians as well...:-)
To astute-reading Elvis:
Right!!The increased mass of you really brings solid stability for our ARFC defence line like a Russian made T72 tanks where even the Americans Brady couldnt even brings you down nor over run you. :-) Kekeke.....

hard-man Tjioe coming back for good......
Great to hear that Apex is steam rolling past all our opponents....I still remember the last classiq league we participated in, opponents (i.e. Thai team) were much stronger than Aces, we still managed to finish as champions. No matter how fat or how old we have become, the spirit of Apex shall live on!!!
The quality of the video is lousy, can anybody brng a better video cam? Clips are all only 7 seconds long. Theres is hardly more than 7 fans. The commentary is only full of hokkien vulgarities. Bring on some real TV crew for the next game!
All the best,

Will be back on the 9 Dec for good!

Fired-up ARFC exacts revenge on Aces Utd with 4-2 victory
In the top-of-the-table clash between Aces United and Apex Rangers FC (ARFC), a fired-up ARFC defeated Aces Utd 4-2 in front of the usual-fanatical and boisterous 77,777 fans at ITE Stadia.
As the fixture was a top-of-the-table clash, traffic jams were seen stretching from CTE AMK Ave 5 to Chin Swee Road and also TPE all the way to Woodlands Ave 2. This resulted in the TP of the SPF deploying all their available resources just for this match. Nevertheless, another 17,777 were still locked out of the stadia but this time round, ARFC Board of Directors had already forseen this situation and had erected 7 LCD 777-inches outside the stadia for their viewing pleasure.
Seeing such fanatical support, all ARFC warriors were fired-up as can be seen in their vigorous warm-ups. Also, for the first time in probably 7 years, we have 18 ARFC warriors turning up for this game!!!
As usual, Jinzhong started in goal with astute-reading Elvis and Towering Toh at the heart of the defence. Fast-improving Bernard and Kiat Gulam guarded the flanks and they were supported by sublime Khim and turbo-engine Hock in front of them. Sebastiano and hard-working Tong were in the middle of the park and the front-line paired quick-silver Derrick and powerful Alvin. The subs were ARFC scoring legend Haron (as he was late), unpredictable Blackburn, David Mak (father of Marco Mak), determined Huiming, Speedy Hee, returning British punk Damian Pereira and new-boy hard-man Ron. The match was also graced by used-to-be-speedy right-back, Boon who is now a successful banker after making profits of $7 million after investing in “UK Land” with Profitable Plots.
When the referee blew the starting whistle, ARFC immediately pressed them as they were all fired-up by the cheering fans. However, Aces Utd held its ground well and threatened to score first. ARFC’s backline, once again ably led by astute-reading Elvis, was able to repel their attacks.
In the 17th min, ARFC won a corner after some relentless pressure. Powerful Alvin flighted in a measured corner and amidst the goal-mouth scramble, Towering Toh “toe-poked” the ball in for the opening goal which prompted chantings of “Toh, Toh, Toh” round the stadia. This was also Towering Toh’s 19th goal for ARFC.
Aces Utd, however, was not the League leaders for nothing. In the 27th min, Sebastiano failed to prevent their play-maker from running through the centre and he solo all the way to slot in their equalizer. 1-1
Nevertheless, ARFC did not lose heart and continued harassing and closing down on their opponents. Off one such pressure 7 minutes later, their keeper inexplicably handled a back-pass and an in-direct free-kick was awarded just outside the 6-yard box. Powerful Alvin took a touch before turbo-engine Hock thumped the ball in with a slight ricochet off their defender that almost burst the net. ESPN replay indicated that the speed of the shot was measured at 777 km/hr. This was turbo-engine Hock’s 13th goal for ARFC.
ARFC forwards then proceeded to miss several glitz-edged chances which could have buried Aces Utd by half-time. When referee blew for the half-time whistle, ARFC warriors were greeted by thunderous applause from the fans. 2-1!!
In the 2nd-half, Sebastiano made a string of changes to give all a chance to play. The most significant change was of course, ARFC scoring legend Haron. 7 minutes after the re-start, another world-class ball from sublime Khim put Haron through. However, their keeper was also charging for the ball and it would appear that Haron might not have made it. Haron’s lovely wife-to-be then shouted “Abang, lari lari lari” which seemed to work as Haron managed to get to the ball before their keeper did. The ball then rolled into the open goal at a speed of 77 metres/hr. 3-1!!!
In the 67th min, unpredictable Blackburn received a ball on the right and sent it straight to Speedy Hee who controlled the ball expertly before lifting the ball to Haron. Taking a quick touch, ARFC scoring legend did not disappoint the partisan crowd as he chipped over the on-rushing keeper with a Peter Beardsley-type of execution. 4-1 and this was Haron’s 99th goal for ARFC. His goal also sparked off wild celebrations at the stands and all kind of stuff such as underwear, condoms, toilet rolls, paper scraps ala Bueno Aires World Cup in 1978, were thrown onto the jogging track. A female streaker with wordings “I Love ARFC” was even seen running round the track before being subdued by the security staff
7 mins later, Aces Utd managed to pull a goal but ARFC held firm for a convincing 4-2 victory!!!
During the post-match interview with Jamie Yeo of ESPN, ARFC Board of Directors Kiat Gulam was ecstatic with the win.
“I am really proud to be a member of ARFC. We have proved to others that despite all the wild drinking, sex, drugs and rock n roll, ARFC warriors can still put in a decent game of football. I wanna thank all fans for turning up which was crucial to us. Thanks once again.”
Immediately after giving his comments, Kiat Gulam was spotted chatting-up Jamie to arrange for a drinking session at Club de 632………

ARFC Players 6 stars rating performance ends Aces Utd unbeaten reigns!!!!!
Pictures of ApexRangers VS Aces Utd FC - 12 Nov 2006 [Classiq league Tournament 2006]

Picture 1 : ApexRangers players celebrating their triumphant 4-2 win after the game.
Picture 2 : Aces Utd players preparing before the kick-off.
Picture 3 : ARFC top striker Haronaldo getting all ready for the 2nd half.
In this drizzly afternoon, ApexRangers players displayed a truly 6 star rating performance & ended Aces Utd FC glorious unbeaten run in the Classiq league tournament. It was a much anticipated match between these 2 favourites in this Classiq league but there can only be 1 well-deserved winner and the bravado ApexRangers emerged victorious after a closely hard fought 90minutes between the 2 in ITE Stadia.
All the ARFC players were determined to avenge their last defeat when they lost 3-6 to the league leader ACES United team in their last meeting. It was certainly no surprise that the reputable Aces Utd FC is nonetheless a class above all the rest whipping several participating teams with exhorbitant margins and rarely conceding any goals. However, it was not to be this time round as all the ApexRangers players rose to the occasion and sent group leader ACES UTD FC thumping to their 1st defeat of the season with a truly well-deserved 4-2 win!! Thus, this ends their fairytale running up to this tournament & their proud unbeaten record broken into tattered misery.
In short, ApexRangers FC stamped its authority on the field right from the start of this exciting game. They took swift control of the tempo, cutting down ACES Utd advances but wasted several glorious misses during the beginning 15minutes. Not to be despair and learning from their last lesson, ApexRangers demonstrated great camaraderie team spirits and undeter determination to prove that they have not lost any of their ferocious bite against their formidable ACES players . Everyone on the pitch took on this huge responsiblities on their shoulder like a heavy sand bag and battered an equally impressive ACES team by putting in a steely performance to match their tough opponents. When the final whistle blew, they have managed to pin down Aces Utd with an astounding 4-2 win. This victorious win not only savaged the 3 important points they had lost previously to ACES UTD but bringing back the pride & glory they once held as the defending champion in the Year 2000 tournament.
It was definately a sweet revenge for all the ARFC players who played in this afternoon putting in no less than 101% effort while pushing their ever impressive opponents all the way throughout the whole of the 90 tiring minutes. It was simply not just a job well-done but done it so perfectly well with a collective camaraderie spirits ,efforts & cohesive teamwork which is truly commendable. When the match finally comes to an agonising end for the ACES team, it was in contrary that all the proud ApexRangers players are holding their head high in the skies to register this triumphant victory knowing that they have put in their utmost best without letting anyone in the team down. They truly played to their strength today with another remarkable win in ARFC history.
We will surely look forward to their next 2 games against the ever improving KG Utd and the unpredictable Marauders FC to end this gruelling season where the champion medals lies not quite far ahead from this amazing team.

ARFC blog founder wins in her first mahjong session
I am pleased to announce that our ARFC blog founder, Ms Caren Lim, has successfully played her very-first mahjong session with her 3 female colleagues on Saturday. And yes, virgin luck also brought her $12 winnings…….
ARFC demolished Yaakeen!!
In a crucial match played fine weather, ARFC blazed Yaakeen 5-1 in front of the boisterous 77,777 fans at ITE Stadia. It was also reported that due to the crucial fixture, about 7,777 fans were locked out of the stadia for security reasons. However, the Board of Directors quickly erected a 77-inch giant plasma Hitachi TV for the fans to enjoy just outside the stadia.
ARFC received a “bad-news brown” when determined Huiming pulled out with a virus the previous night, though sources revealed that he was “working HARD all night” on Saturday. However, ARFC also received a huge boost when turbo-engine Hock, evergreen Eng Lai and David Mak (father of Marco Mak) unexpectedly turned up, prompting chants round the stadia. Of course, the usual suspects were also present for the match.
Jinzhong started in goal, with astute-reading Elvis, Towering Toh, fast-improving Bernard and Kiat Gulam forming the rear-guard. In the midfield, Sebastiano, hardworking Tong, sublime Khim and quick-silver Derrick were deployed. Up front, ARFC scoring legend Haron was partnered by powerful Alvin. Speedy Hee, unpredictable Blackburn, turbo-engine Hock, evergreen Eng Lai and David Mak (father of Marco Mak) were the substitutes.
Clearly heartened by the attendance of 16, the full-house crowd of 77,777 as well as the locked-out 7,777 fans, ARFC warriors immediately went for the jugular right from the whistle. However, ARFC has to endure a few scares as Yaakeen was a good team and had threatened to open the scoring in the opening minutes. Despite so, ARFC held firm thanks to the strong defence led by astute-reading Elvis.
ARFC took the lead in the 7th min. Picking up a loose ball right outside Yaakeen’s penalty box, sublime Khim took a touch and let fly a thunderous shot that had the crowd up on their feet, anticipating a goal. True enough, sublime Khim’s shot landed at the top-left corner that almost burst the net. 1-0!!! The goal led to 7 Mexican waves round the stadia. It was sublime Khim’s 18th goal for ARFC
7 minutes later, ARFC grabbed goal No. 2. Off a superb delivered corner from powerful Alvin, ARFC scoring legend, Haron (who else?) showed tremendous anticipation by stooping low to head past their keeper for his 97th ARFC goal. Chants of “Haron, Haron” went for almost 7 minutes.
In the 27th min, ARFC scored the third goal. Picking up a return ball off his throw-in, quick-silver Derrick whipped in a long ball over to the left and up stepped sublime Khim to exquisitely and expertly side-footed the ball at the bottom right-hand corner. Wonderful and truly world-class execution!! (Someone please help me – I’m running out of superlatives for sublime Khim already!!!!)
7 minutes later, another flowing move by the forwards resulted the ball rolled out to the unmarked quick-silver Derrick. Taking about 7 seconds, quick-silver Derrick coolly placed the ball beyond their keeper’s reach for ARFC’s 4th goal and his 6th goal in his short but productive ARFC career.
In the 37th min, speedy Hee replaced powerful Alvin and he made his presence felt immediately. Off another well-measured pass from sublime Khim, speedy Hee lived up to his nick-name by out-pacing their left-back and swept the ball in. 5-0!!! Wonderful speed!!! Speedy Hee’s goal also took him to the top-5 in the ARFC scoring charts with his 42nd goal, just one goal behind 4th-place Sebastiano’s 43 goals and 1 more than 6th-place WO Neo’s 41 goals.
ARFC then made a string of substitutions in the second half. In the 57th min, Yaakeen pulled a goal back when their midfielder scored a consolation goal with a 47-metres lob over Jinzhong, who was otherwise having a fantastic match with his safe-handling.
As usual, turbo-engine Hock impressed with his hard-running and strength, David Mak (father of Marco Mak) was his usual dependable self, and evergreen Eng Lai had clearly improved. Hard-working Tong was industrious, fast-improving Bernard showed good tackles, powerful Alvin and speedy Hee impressed with good harassing of the opponents, Towering Toh once again ruled in the air, astute-reading Elvis was unbeatable and even managed to bring the ball out of defence on several occasions, Kiat Gulam and Sebastiano were normal, Jinzhong was steady, ARFC scoring legend contributed with his usual high standard. This leaves us with quick-silver Derrick who gave another outstanding game. In fact, he was so good that the opponents targeted him and brought him down time and again whenever he has the ball. But credit to him for not retaliating as we all know that 3-year ago Derrick would surely have landed a Mike Tyson punch straight away!! J
And yes, how can we forget sublime Khim, who was simply out of this world with another breath-taking 7-star performance!!! He should be playing with Steven Gerrard!!!
In the post-match interview with Charlie Webster, David Mak (father of Marco Mak), who is also one of the ARFC founders, was clearly over the moon:
“I wanna thank my lovely wife, Dora and certainly not speedy Hee, for her understanding in allowing me to come for this crucial match. If not, I would have missed out a sterling ARFC performance and sublime Khim’s both goals which are certainly Goals-of-the-Season”.
It should be noted that while David Mak (father of Marco Mak) was giving his interview to Charlie Webster, his eyes somehow was looking at the chest-level…..
