ARFC in battling 4-2 win over FC Goguryo

Shrugging off last week’s shock 0-1 loss, ARFC picked itself up with a battling 4-2 victory against a strong Korean team, FC Goguryo.

ARFC was hit by the speed of a typical Korean team when it conceded a goal after just 7 mins.

Blackburn then sparked ARFC’s come-back in the 15^th min when he spotted Alvin with acres of space in the box and found him with an immaculate and accurate pass.  Alvin put his recent disappointing performances when he showed tremendous composure to slam the ball past their hapless GK. 1-0 and this was his 293^rd ARFC goal.

In the 27^th min, promising youngster Lucas fired in a powerful shot from 27.77 metres which was palmed away by their GK.  The rebound fell to the lurking Alvin who simply smashed the ball home for his 294^th ARFC goal.  2-1

With this brace, Alvin demonstrated that the usual saying that class is permanent, form is temporary.

The opponents then showed typical Korean spirit when they equalized 7 mins after the re-start.

In the 66^th min, Wayne got on the scoring act when after receiving the ball in the box, he dummied their defender by dragging the ball to his favoured left foot. With precise accuracy, Wayne nonchalently chipped the ball over their despairing GK for his 28^th ARFC goal. 3-2

Wayne then put the result to bed with his brace.  In a move that signaled that he is more than ready to replace the aging Sebastian in the engine room, Larry produced a no-look pass ala Sebastian to release Wayne. Running in from deep, Wayne dashed through and placed the ball past their onrushing GK for his 29^th ARFC goal. 4-2.

ARFC then withheld the late Korean storm to hold out for a deserving 4-2 victory.
