ARFC encountered the worst-ever referee in its 26-year playing history

Missing several key players, ARFC was whitewashed by Tres Dos 0-7 under extreme humid and hot weather.

As usual, ARFC was supported by Lingzhi, Ron’s beau.

After some courageous defending led by Ron, ARFC then conceded a goal which was scored by their right winger from an off-side position.

ARFC then conceded 3 more goals after a slew of substitutions due to the weather.

Chun Haw then tried to inspire a fight-back but his bullet-like shot cannoned off the cross-bar.  Unlucky!

Rashid, who was late, then found Guoxiong with an outside left footer.  Guoxiong showed Andrei Kanchelski-like flank play when he beat their left-back but his ball across goal was not picked up by anyone.

Sebastian then played a quick corner on the left to Blackburn which caught the opponents by surprise.  Looking up, Blackburn chipped a ball to the far right corner but it hit the stachion and bounced out.  Unlucky!

ARFC improved with several nice wall passes but could not find a break-through.  Chun Haw was especially menacing but could not grab a goal.

ARFC was not helped by the inept referee who seemed all out to go against ARFC with some really questioning decisions, culminated with a really bizarre penalty decision against ARFC which was converted by the opponents.

The referee then went on his personal quest to infuriate ARFC with yet more questionable and strange decisions.

The referee then continued his biased decisions against ARFC when Soon was clearly fouled but he closed both eyes.

The match then ended with 0-7 score-line thanks in large part to the referee.

ARFC's defence won the match

Playing on a poor pitch at Serangoon SS, ARFC pulled off an undeserving 2-1 win over RustyStarz Unio.

ARFC was supported by its die-hard and hardcore supporter Lingzhi, Ron’s wife as well as Guoxiong’s wife Tracie and daughter Clara. Branden also made a surprise presence.

Prior to the match, several ARFC warriors pulled out of the match but thankfully, Darren, Khim and Sebastian appeared at he 11th hour.

ARFC could not get its game going at all and had to be indebted to Derrick who pulled off 2 reflective saves in quick succession.

ARFC then fell behind deservingly. 0-1

Derrick then continued to keep ARFC in the match with a superb one-handed save.

ARFC then gained a life-line when Lucas, who was clearly the Man-of-the-Match, picked up a long ball from middle and dribbled his way into the box.  He then whipped in a shot which was handled by their defender, giving the referee the easiest of decision to award a penalty.  Khim stepped and though their GK got a hand to his well-placed shot, he could not prevent the ball from hitting the net.  1-0 and this was Khim’s 58th ARFC goal.

In the 2nd half, ARFC still could not upp its usual standards and was really grateful to ARFC’s famed stout defence led by Ron and comprising Toh, Darren and Chua.  Guoxiong and Eng Lai also contributed significantly with their covering at the flanks.

Out of nowhere suddenly, ARFC grabbed its 2nd goal which turned out to be the winning goal in the end. Eng Lai sent a long ball down the right flank and Lucas pursued the ball and went ahead of their left-back. Almost near the corner flag on the right, Lucas turned and drilled in a powerful shot that squeezed past their GK at the left, catching everyone both by surprise and in amazement.  2-1 and this was Lucas’ 3rd ARFC goal.

ARFC then held on for an undeserving 2-1 win.  Strangely enough, the opponents also won an totally undeserving 2-1 over ARFC few months ago at the muddy paddy field at Kallang.

Voting results:

Ron – 9
Darren – 8
Chua – 5
Derrick – 5
Toh – 4
Khim – 4
Eng Lai – 2
Guoxiong – 1
