time, ARFC could not capitalise on its bright start and succumbed to a crushing
1-5 defeat.
Blackburn did not turn up because someone
simply forgot to inform him of his match.

Missing
several key regular players, it was always a tall order for ARFC, especially
against a strong and accomplished opponent like Rendezvous FC.
However, ARFC
took a surprise lead about 77 seconds from the kick-off. Spotting their GK off the line, Kenny
unleashed a Xabi Alonso-like lob from almost the half-way line that saw the
ball sailed over their GK. 1-0 and this was Kenny’s 77th ARFC goal.
ARFC then continued
to impress for the next 15 mins with some very good passing and movements.
Rendezvous
FC’s superior fitness and play soon began to take a toll on the aging ARFC
warriors. Within a space of 10
mins, ARFC conceded 3 goals to trail 1-3 at half-time.
In the
second half, ARFC gifted 2 more goals to Rendezvous FC to lose 1-5.
