Soon's birthday goal failed to stop loss

Despite a superlative performance from both Soon and Tze Ern, ARFC still succumbed to a 1-2 defeat to a very young and fit PPFC at Bedok South SS.

ARFC was supported by Lingzhi, fervent and dedicated supporter of ARFC and in particular, Ron. 

Darren’s son, Rayes, was also present to pick up a trick or two from his superb father.

ARFC conceded a goal in the 17^th min after an evenly-fought proceeding in the first 15 mins. 0-1

Soon then gave himself a perfect 44^th birthday present when he blocked a pass from the opponents and after spotted their GK off his line, he showed great vision and technique to lob the ball over the back-pedaling GK for his 74^th ARFC goal. 1-1

Toh then stooped low and sliced his header wide from Blackburn’s corner. Unlucky.

From yet another precise Blackburn corner, Toh headed straight to their GK despite being unmarked. For that, he incurred the wrath of Blackburn.

Derrick then showed his enormous potential as a top GK when he stuck out his left foot to block a sizzling grounder from the opponents.

In the 2^nd half, Sebastian cleared off the line after they beat Derrick from close range. Superb block ala Ashley Cole.

Sebastian then chipped a perfect ball to Haron who swiveled and swung in a cross.  However, no one reached the ball in time.

The opponents then scored another break-way goal from breaking our off-side trap.

Tze Ern, who had a fantastic match, then fired in a free-kick which their GK spilled. Both Blackburn and Haron reacted quickest but Haron’s effort was incorrectly ruled off-side. Unlucky!

Sebastian then combined with Alvin brilliantly down the left flank but Sebastian’s cut-back was blocked by their sweeper, with Haron and Soon waiting behind.
