Haron netted a brace to inspire 5-1 win over Anfield Warriors FC

Playing a Saturday afternoon match for the first time since ages ago, ARFC put up a strong display to dismiss the challenge of the ‘Anfield Warriors FC’ (Liverpool Supporters team) 5-1 with Haron back to his groove.

This was also the first time that ARFC is playing in a 3-halves match of 30 mins each.

ARFC opened the scoring in the 7th min. From Darren’s searching ball down the left channel ala Bjornebye, Alvin turned and chipped to Chun Haw. Without missing a beat, Chun Haw headed the ball back to Alvin who cracked in a crisp volley in the air ala Fernando Torres (the Liverpool version, not the Chelski version) that almost burst the net. 1-0 and this was Alvin’s 196th ARFC goal.

With this goal, Alvin has now scored in his 4th successive match.

The 1st tri-half ended 1-0 as chances were at a premium.

7 mins after the start of the 2nd tri-half, ARFC conceded after it failed to clear a corner. 1-1

ARFC regained its lead just 7 mins later.  Derrick performed a Steve McManaman when he weaved and wriggled his way into the box and was chopped down by their defender. Haron stepped up to plant the penalty firmly into the bottom right corner ala Robbie Fowler for his 187th ARFC goal. 2-1

7 mins later, ARFC extended its lead. Alvin muscled his way and won the ball on the right and quickly played in Chun Haw ala Steven Gerrard. Chun Haw faced their keeper one-on-one and he won the dual by placing the ball past him ala Michael Owen. 3-1 and this was Chun Haw’s 19th ARFC goal, putting him on level terms with ex-warrior Jesmond.

17th mins later, Alvin again robbed their player of possession and powered down the left flank. His cross was cleared by their defender but was blocked by Hee ala Mascherano. The ball fell kindly to the lurking Haron who needed no second invitation to hit home his 188th ARFC goal ala Robbie Fowler. 4-1

In the 3rd tri-half, Toh finally arrived to lend strength. ARFC continued to create chances and both Haron and Chun Haw were put through on goal on a couple of occasions but could not hit the target.

Just mins from the end, ARFC won a free-kick. As the opponents were busy forming the wall, Blackburn took full advantage and caught them by surprise by simply firing a quick free-kick into the net for his 126th ARFC goal. 5-1

Man-of-the-Match is jointly given to both Roy and Jackson.

After the match, both teams gathered for a hand-shake as Liverpool fans, like Liverpool players, are always sporting losers. A group photo was taken and all sang Liverpool songs together.

This gesture moved long-time Man Yoo supporters Guoxiong, Derrick, Hee and Jasper so much that they vowed to become Liverpool supporters henceforth.  In fact, all 4 of them even commented that they were ashamed to be Man Yoo supporters for so long as Man Yoo is always a sore loser.

Even Tjioe, another long-term Man Yoo supporter and who was watching the match via live streaming while receiving BBBJ from a “lady-boy” in a dinghy hotel room in Bangkok, was moved to tears after witnessing the post-match gesture. Tjioe also realized his mistake in supporting Man Yoo and after ejaculating, chanted “I will be a die-hard Liverpool supporter from now on……”

Before ARFC left, Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Kenny Dalglish commented that Alvin, Haron and Chun Haw are almost as good as they were in their prime, and invited them to join them for the Masters Futsal tournament in 2014.
