Playing its first match in 2013, ARFC and
Chun Haw continued their scorching form by notching its 3 successive victories
and 3rd successive hat-tricks respectively in as many matches with a
hard-fought but thoroughly well-deserved 5-2 win over a typical determined
Myanmar nationals team at the very poor Bukit View Sec pitch.
The match was once again witnessed by Tracie
(Guoxiong’s beau) who continues to look very pretty in her pregnant state.
Special credit to all who turned up due to
the very last-min switch in venue and kick-off time. Also special praise to
Derrick who volunteered to be keeper for the entire match

Things started on a bad note just 377 seconds into the match when Chun
Haw took a nasty kick at his shin and had to leave the field for treatment and
Hee came into replace him and immediately created ARFC’s first goal.
Darren and Alvin combined brilliantly at the left flank which saw Darren
swinging in a long looping ball from the left to the far post. Hee was right on
cue and headed the ball back across goal and Blackburn demonstrated that he
might have lost the pace but certainly not the quick thinking. Before the ball
reached their defender from Hee’s knock-down, Blackburn nipped the ball away,
swiveled and stroked the ball home for his 121st ARFC goal. 1-0
ARFC then conceded a goal. 1-1
Sebastian, Tjioe and Ron then came on for Soon, Blackburn and Alvin
respectively.
Tjioe turned back the clock and brought every warrior and fan back to
the ITE AMK era when he was a box-to-box all-action midfielder. In quick
succession, Tjioe picked up 3 successive loose balls from outside their penalty
area and fired in shots that flew just wide.
Sebastian also tried to lob their keeper on 3 occasions but to no avail.
In the second half, ARFC soon fell behind. 1-2
Ron and Sebastian then cajoled ARFC into action with their constant
“hair-dryer treatment” on the field which soon paid dividends as ARFC equalized
again thanks to Hee’s probing run at the left. Hee received the ball, sped away
and was crudely fouled. However, the impressive referee waved play on as the
ball was picked up by Blackburn. Without delay, Blackburn squared the ball low
to Chun Haw, who ignoring Sebastian’s shout to pass to him on the right, turned
and placed the ball nicely into the bottom left corner for his 16th
ARFC goal. 2-2
Clearly galvanised by the goal, ARFC duly regain the lead with yet
another goal from Chun Haw. In the mirror-image of the earlier goal, Soon was
fouled on the right but the referee waved play on. The ball was passed to Chun
Haw who despatched the ball home for his 17th ARFC goal. 3-2
Mins later, ARFC put the result to bed when Blackburn’s right-wing cross
sailed over their keeper to nestle nicely at the top left-hand corner. 4-2 and
this was Blackburn’s 122nd ARFC goal.
By now, the opponents were totally deflated and defeated and ARFC
planted the final nail in their coffin with a truly great team goal. From the
right back position in our half, Jasper passed to Sebastian who was just 2.7
metres ahead. Sebastian returned the pass to Jasper who moved up. Jasper then
exchanged wall-passes with Soon who was at the right. Soon then passed to
Sebastian who had now moved up to be level with Soon. Soon then moved inward
while Jasper continued his run down the right. Soon then exchange wall-passes
with Jasper before releasing the ball down the right for Jasper. Jasper
marauded forward, looked up and delivered a venomous cross. Alvin took aim but
kicked thin air but thankfully Chun Haw was behind Alvin. Trapping the ball,
Chun Haw crashed the ball home for his 3rd consecutive hat-trick in
3 consecutive matches and his 18th ARFC goal. 5-2
With this goal, Chun Haw also equaled Alvin’s record of scoring 3
hat-tricks in 3 successive matches. These are the details:
Alvin:
04 Mar 2007 – ARFC won 9-1
11 Mar 2007 – ARFC won 6-0
08 Apr 2007 – ARFC won 7-2
Chun Haw:
23 Dec 2012 – ARFC won 6-2
30 Dec 2012 – ARFC won 5-1
06 Jan 2013 – ARFC won 5-2
Man-of-the-Match is jointly given to Ron and Toh.
