ARFC in bizarre 1-3 defeat

Playing for the first time at the brand-new pristine pitch at SUTD, ARFC out in a Hyde and Jackell performance to lose 1-3 against Reds FC.

Prior to the match, Blackburn violently declined the chance to manage ARFC.

ARFC started confidently and was stroking the ball around with ease.

From one such movement, ARFC took the lead. The ball was stated from Chua at right-back which saw the ball moved from Sebastian to Soon and then to Kenny on the right flank.  Spotted Chun Haw running into the penalty box, Kenny whipped in a tentalising ball which saw Chun Haw challenging for the ball. Their GK managed to clear the ball before Chun Haw could reach him.  However, his clearance only found its way to Haron’s feet. Demonstrating great composure and accuracy, Haron bade his time and placed home a low shot that brushed off the left post and nestled nicely into the net. 1-0 and this was Haron’s 234^th ARFC goal.

Wayne then latched on to a through ball and managed to skip past GK who looked to have caught Wayne with a late tackle. However, Wayne stayed on his feet and Kenny then fired the loose ball over the bar. Great sportsmanship from Wayne thouh he could have just fallen over and win a penalty.

After missing several chances, ARFC could only take a 1-0 lead into the second half.

The second half, however, told a different story with ARFC surprisingly under tremendous pressure and conceded 2 goals in quick succession.

Derrick then enhanced his reputation as a world-class penalty stopper when his Bruce Grobblearr-like antics out off their striker who sliced his spot-kick wide after a foul by Tjioe.

Derrick then produced a world-class save when he somehow stuck out his left foot to block a almost-certain header from their forward.

Alvin then had a golden chance to snatch an equaliser. After receiving a great long ball from Chua, Alvin powered clear and upon reaching the penalty box, he was about to shoot when their defender, who was almost half the age of Alvin, came from nowhere to nick the ball away.

ARFC then conceded a 3^rd goal.  Derrick did very well to palm out a venomous free-kick but their forward lashed home the rebound. 1-3

ARFC in unfortunate 3-5 defeat

For the first time in its illustrious history, ARFC conceded yet another 5 goals in a match for 3 consecutive matches to lose 3-5 against Uganda FC.

ARFC welcomed back Jinzhong who finally made his maiden appearance since he has a new girlfriend.

ARFC also tried out a new manager, Blackburn, who took charge for the first time since decades ago.

ARFC was supported by Ron’s wife and Chun Haw’s friends.

Against the run of play, the opponenst scored. 0-1

7 mins later, ARFC grabbed an equaliser. From the left, Alvin harassed their defender who made a hurried back pass to his GK. In his panic state due to the sight of Alvin charging down at him like a raging bull, the GK made a harsh of his clearance which saw the ball fell to Haron.  With a brilliant first tuch, Haron instinctively lobbed the ball over the back-pedalling GK for his 233^rd ARFC goal. 1-1

In the 37^th min, ARFC took the lead.  Starting from midfield, the hardworking Hee headed the ball towards Alvin on the left.  In his trade-mark move, Alvin fully utilised his bulging muscles and strength to evade the heavy challenge from their defender and dribbled the ball into the box before calmly slotted the ball past their despairing GK.  2-1 and this was Alvin’s 287^th ARFC goal.

In the 44^th min, the opponents earned a penalty but Jinzhong showed no signs of rustiness when he brilliantly dived the right way and caught the ball in mid-air. World-lass penalty save!

ARFC then inexplicably and strangely conceded 4 goals in quick successiln, to trail 2-5.

In the 67^th min, Chun Haw missed an open goal. Unlucky!

In the 77^th min, running on to a through ball from Wayne, Alvin body-checked their defender and dribbled into the box. But their GK stuck out his foot to divert Alvin’s shot away. The ball went to Chun Haw who was lurking in the box and his mishit shot somehow found its way to Alvin. Alvin then had the simplest of task to put the ball into the empty and unguarded net for his 288^th ARFC goal. 3-5

With the last shot of the match, Haron nearly scored his brace. His superbly-hit shot from inside the box came back off the cross-bar. Unlucky!
