Alvin continued his recent rich vein of form when his curling corner hit their defender for an apparent own goal.  However, replay showed that the ball would have gone in anyway and hence the goal was credited to Alvin. 1-0 and this was Alvin’s 271^st ARFC goal.

Hee then etched his name into the record book when he scored ARFC’s 100^th goal in the year 2015.  From Derrick’s superb goal-kick, Alvin knocked the ball down for Hee. Clearly a much better player after his recent marriage to Melissa, Hee’s powerful shot was too much for their GK to handle. 2-0 and this was Hee’s 102^nd ARFC goal, moving him on level terms with Derrick.


Guest player Rashid then scored ARFC’s 3^rd goal. 3-0.

ARFC then conceded a late goal to win 3-1.

ARFC shrugged off its 2 recent 1-4 losses by trouncing Kakis United 6-1.

ARFC drew first blood within minutes when the impressive Darren played the ball to Hee who then produced a defence-splitting pass to Kenny. Fresh from his wedding photo-shoot, Kenny showed why he is so highly-regarded when he instinctively smashed a low ball into the net with his first touch, ala Robin Van Persie. 1-0 and this was Kenny’s 64^th ARFC goal.

 

Guoxiong then doubled ARFC’s lead when he brought the ball expertly at the right flank. His intended cross somehow eluded everybody and landed in the net for his 24^th ARFC goal. 2-0 and with his goal, Guoxiong has moved to level terms with ex-ARFC warrior Tong who also made his guest appearance today.

 

Boosted by his goal, Guoxiong fizzed a delicious ball to the right flank for Soon to square the ball to the box. Alvin killed the ball with a brilliant first touch and almost burst the net with a thunderbolt.  3-0 and this was Alvin’s 269^th ARFC goal.

 

Kenny doubled his tally after yet another peach of a goal. Receiving the ball at the corner of the penalty box, there seemed no danger at all until he suddenly let fly a left-foot curler to the top corner to leave their GK stunned for 7 seconds. 4-0 and this was Kenny’s 65^th ARFC goal.

 

ARFC was not done. With minutes to go before the end of the half, Alvin showed brilliant speed of thought when he latched onto a poor back-pass. With their GK hesitating, Alvin needed no second invitation to simply thump the ball home for his 270^th ARFC goal. 5-0

 

In the 2^nd half, ARFC eased off much but still managed to grab its 6^th goal through Chun Haw.  Receiving a nice lay-off from Alvin outside the box, Chun Haw unleashed a Steven Gerrard-like missile to give their GK no chance at all. 6-0 and this was Chun Haw’s 35^th ARFC goal.

 

ARFC then conceded a late goal to win 6-1.

ARFC in bizarre 1-4 loss

Just like last week, ARFC lost by an identical scoreline of 1-4 in a friendly match on 15 Nov 2015.

ARFC scored first with a thumping header from How Meng who notched his 7^th ARFC goal.

 

But somehow, ARFC self-imploded and conceded 4 goals to lose 1-4.

 

 

Wedding-bliss Hee scored in 1-4 defeat

In its match on 08 Nov 2015, ARFC came up against a clearly-superior Inglorious FC and despite playing one of its better matches, ARFC still lost 1-4.

ARFC also welcomed back Hee from his recent happy marriage to Melissa who, however, was not present.

ARFC played one of its best-ever first 20 minutes of a match by pressing the opponents relentlessly, with both Alvin and Hee giving their defence plenty of nightmares.

 

In our defence, the back four did not even let a fly into its rearguard.

 

ARFC almost took the lead when Chun Haw’s fiercely-struck free-kick was tipped over by their flying GK.

 

Off a corner kick, Alvin played a short corner and the ball went to Chun Haw but he put his shot too close to their GK.

 

The opponents then scored 2 goals. 0-2 at half-time.

 

ARFC pulled a goal back within 7 minutes of the re-start. From left midfield, Khim chipped in a delicious ball to Alvin who had pulled away to the left.  Without breaking his stride, Alvin immediately laid a grounder to the centre and Hee sped in to simply toe-poke the ball which then rolled past their stunned GK and defenders.  Superb team goal.

 

1-0 and this was Hee’s 101^st ARFC goal. What a good way to commemorate his recent wedding.  

 

However, ARFC conceded 2 more goals to lose 1-4.

 

Despite the 3-goal defeat, ARFC actually played one of its better matches and with some luck, we might have narrowed the scoreline.

 

Most encouraging was also the attendance.
